Sarah Sprinkel – The Better Choice for Winter Park City Commission – Seat 2
Cast your vote for a highly regarded leader, decision-maker and problem solver.
A Letter from Sarah (Sarah's Letter)
Dear Winter Park Neighbor:
I decided to run for City Commission-Seat 2 to bring people in our community together. I believe civility is important to effective leadership and good government.
The Orlando Sentinel's endorsement of me focused on my reputation as an honest person, and they are correct. This is why I decided to run a positive, civil campaign regardless of any mischaracterization, false innuendos and scare tactics which maybe used against me.
To those of you who are enthusiastic supporters of mine, I say "thank you" for your confidence in my abilities. I am honored and humbled by the outpouring of phone calls, emails and financial support from a broad base of Winter Park citizens.
I have lived in WP for 38 years. My family and I cherish our treasured town, just as you do. Therefore:
- I am IN FAVOR OF the Comprehensive Plan and would not permit any development that would change the character and charm of our community.
- I am IN FAVOR OF finding ways to increase the commercial tax base to reduce the homeowner's burden of delivering city services.
- I am IN FAVOR OF zero-based budgeting which eliminates excess spending and a waste of your tax dollars.
- I am IN FAVOR OF business development and beautification along Fairbanks Avenue and Lee Road that complements our city.
- I am IN FAVOR OF "public/private" partnerships that work for the good of the community.
- I am IN FAVOR OF rescinding the salary increase for commissioners because I believe public service should be public service.
- I am IN FAVOR OF eliminating the dog park fees at Fleet People Park. The cost of enforcing the fee program exceeds the revenue.
I am determined to put my experience in education, public administration and government relations to work for the citizens of Winter Park.
- I am experienced in running successful multi-million dollar programs.
- I am experienced developing successful "public/private" partnerships.
- I have served as a leader and active member on over 60 local, state and national task forces, committees and boards.
In the first 100 days on the job, I will PUSH to make City Hall more user friendly, help CREATE city-wide programming for the new Community Center and EXAMINE realistic public-private partnerships with a view toward doing more with less.
Thank you again for your support, your friendship and your neighborly attitude. I look forward to serving as your City Commissioner.
Best regards,
SARAH SPRINKEL
